MOGAM-KASBP Scholarship

2026 KASBP Spring Symposium

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is a non-profit organization founded in May 2001. With the generous support of MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation, KASBP established MOGAM-KASBP scholarship in 2022 to foster brilliant undergraduate and graduate student(s) studying science-related disciplines at university and/or scientific institution outside of Republic of Korea (ROK). We warmly invite you to apply for the 5^th MOGAM-KASBP Scholarship. The recipient will receive a $5,000 prize along with coverage for airfare and one night of hotel accommodation.

Invited Area: Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

Qualifications and guidelines:

1. The applicant must be an undergraduate or a graduate student
2. Previous MOGAM-KASBP scholars may reapply for sustainable growth support, however each person can receive the scholarship no more than twice. Anyone who has received the MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation’s Study Abroad Scholarship; 목암과학장학재단 해외유학생 장학금” are NOT eligible to apply
3. The applicant must have ROK citizenship
4. Permanent US resident (green card holder) retaining ROK citizenship is eligible to apply
5. The applicant who holds dual citizenship (i.e., both ROK and foreign country) must declare not exercising foreign citizenship in Korea before submitting the application
6. The applicant must attend the Symposium, or the nomination will be withdrawn
7. The awardee is encouraged to present a poster (Optional. Please indicate in your scholarship application “Prefer to present poster”, if you are willing to present poster).
8. The award nominee will be asked to submit 4 documents. 1) a copy of current enrollment verification certificate, 2) a copy of current passport, 3) a copy of passport information certificate, and 4) a copy of your visa or green card to prove ROK nationality before the symposium. The nomination will be cancelled upon failure of submitting the documents.
   

·        Due date: March 13^th 2026 (9:00 PM EST)

·        Materials to submit: Submit one PDF (max six pages) with cover letter, abstract of representative work or achievement, future research direction, and CV in English. Word files are not accepted.

·        Typeface: Times New Roman, font size 11

·        Cover letter: Free style in English (describe originality of your proposal, impact of the work or proposal to your field, and how this scholarship will fertilize your carrier development.

About KASBP Symposium: It has been an excellent venue for emerging scientists and scholars to connect with a large professional Korean-American scientist network. During the symposium you will also be exposed to various cutting-edge sciences in drug discovery and development from the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
